Juicing vs blending

"We believe that both juicing and blending are very beneficial but in different ways."

"There is no straightforward answer because I cannot compare the two methods. They both give you different results."

JUICE

With juicing, it’s not about the fiber, it’s about HEALING. That's the reason we juice.
  • restore the body at a cellular level; makes the cells happy
  • is about getting the optimum nutrition into our cells directly, and quickly
  • people tend to do juicing for HEALTH reasons
  • you get the most nutrients (up to 99% absorption) out of the vitamins and minerals
  • you can pack more servings of fruits and veggies into a single serving of juice
  • without fiber in the juice, some people tend to get hungry again quickly
  • the pressing method makes the green juice tastes better
Juicing is a process which extracts water and nutrients from produce  and discards the indigestible fiber.  Without all the fiber, your digestive system doesn’t have to work as hard to break down the food and absorb the nutrients. In fact, it makes the nutrients more readily available to the body in much larger quantities than if you were to eat the fruits and vegetables whole.

When you juice you are removing the insoluble fiber – the pulp. Don’t get me wrong. Fiber is good for you. It keeps your digestive tract healthy and it slows down the absorption of sugar. But it also slows down the absorption of nutrients and some nutrients stay in the fiber. When you juice, you are extracting up to 70% of the nutrition right into your glass, and without the insoluble fiber your body absorbs 100% of these nutrients.

SMOOTHIE

  • you probably get only up to about 35% absorption of the vitamins and minerals (if your digestive system is good)
  • you can add in powders, granules, nuts, seeds, ice cubes, spices, herbs, etc. to improve the taste
  • you can use non-juiceable fruits like banana, avocado, papaya
  • smoothies are more filling (fiber), and faster to make: great to drink as your breakfast
Unlike juices, smoothies consist of the entire fruit or vegetable, skin and all and contain all of the fiber from the vegetables. However, the blending process breaks the fiber apart (which makes the fruit and vegetables easier to digest) but also helps create a slow, even release of nutrients into the blood stream and avoids blood sugar spikes.
